Making Everyday Beautiful

friday craft day: fun with googly eyes

Friday, May 27, 2011

A few weeks ago Emily was invited to participate in a kids craft & garage sale in celebration of Queen’s Day. She was so excited & we got to work right away planning out a few simple crafts. These cute shell pets were just one of the fun things she made.
They were super simple and just so happened to be her best sellers. 😉

We had a lot of fun making these quirky little guys! In fact, any craft involving googly eyes is always a big hit around here! They just make everything cuter, don`t you think!?

If you`d like to make some of your own shell pets here`s what you need to do:

Shell Pets:
-get yourself some googly eyes
-gather some of your favorite shells
inexpensive shells can often be purchased at your local craft store
-using white glue, a glue gun or another of your favorite
adhesives, glue eyes on your shells
-we also cut out small ears from some felt and a tiny piece
of string and attached to some of our shells to
 make them into little mice
Have fun making your own shell pets and if you really want to go crazy with the googly eyes, here`s a few more craft ideas for you:

Googly eyed owl made from a pinecone.

These googly eyed shoes are sure to be an instant hit!

These fun little stick people make me smile!

Googly eyes + playdough = the funnest ever!
{via serving pink lemonade}
Cutest little egg carton turtle ever!
Definately on our list of summer crafts!

Sea Turtle
Even more googly eyed fun.
