Mother’s Day Mini Album

With Mother’s Day quickly approaching I thought it would be fun to take the next few weeks and focus on mom as we countdown to the big day! There’ll be fabulous gift ideas, FREE printables and lots more to share over the next few weeks, so stay tuned!
Today, I’m excited to kick off the countdown to Mother’s day, with this handmade mini album idea + a FREE downloadable digital template.

I created this album a few years ago as part of a special issue for Simple Scrapbooks magazine. I shared some questions with my mom and had her answer them in an email for me. It was a fun way to get to know her a little bit more and once I’d put the whole album together it made the perfect little handmade gift.
The design + the supply list are pretty simple. All you’d need to create your own album is some white cardstock to create the album pages, some coordinating patterned paper + cardstock, embellishments {}, brads for the flower centres, large eyelets for the top left corner of each page, a corner rounder punch, a binder ring to hold your album pages together and a scrap of ribbon.
This album came together in only a couple of hours, after I’d gathered the journaling from my mom and I’m so happy with how it turned out and for the chance it gave me to get to know a little bit more about her.
To make it even simpler to put together your own mini album for mom, I created these FREE digital templates just for you! :) You can download the templates HERE. They are 5″ X 7″ in size, making them easy to print. Just drop in your own photos + digi paper, add your journaling and you’re good to go. You will need Photoshop Elements or Photoshop to use the templates.
I’ll be sharing a printable list of questions you could ask your mom, grandma, aunt or mother-in-law that will be helpful when creating this album so watch for it next week!

    Hi there,
I’ve just found your site after a FB recommendation to your page – so thought i’d come and check out your blog too…

what a lovely idea this little book of photos and journalling is -like a mini album, but cuter! A great gift for your Mum (I’m from the UK where we say Mum)!

What a shame one can only use with photo shop elements etc – I use software called Craft Artist 2 – which is a fabulous interactive and intuitive crafting, scrapbooking and cardmaking program. It can use jpeg, png or even PDF file formats… anyway – I can still admire the work you’ve created here though.

Although we’d already had Mothers day in the UK – this would be great for so many people/occasions.

Can’t wait to look round at your other projects and blog posts…

Paula Gale – from across the pond!!! :)

Would love to know the full list of questions you asked your mama. I am not great about being creative with the questions but could certainly do the rest!
