The hustle and bustle of the holidays is winding down. I’m trying to catch up on sleep. Cleaning up the mess around here. Thinking about the New Year ahead. Weaning my kids off sugar. (blech!)
I’m mostly just enjoying the family time. Feeling like I really needed to shift my focus a bit here. I’ve been letting scrapbook deadlines, holiday to do’s and what-not take control a bit too much as of late and I need to take a step back and just slow down. Enjoy life. Enjoy my kids. My husband. Just enjoy how much Carson needs me right now. Enjoy my sweet little girl singing songs all day and talking non stop as only a 3 year old can. I need to savor the little details of right now. Not scrapbook them. Not think about how I’m going to scrapbook them. Just live them. Feel them.
Enjoy them.
I rocked Carson to sleep tonight – the first time in way too long. He won’t let me these days because he’s too busy exploring to take time to be still. But he’s been up so late the last few nights that he is completely exhausted and what a treat for me – he let me hold him. And snuggle him. And gave me some much needed time to just sit there thinking about what is most important to me. Holding what is most important to me.
So for now – I will be home, taking in all the little details of life I’ve been missing the past few weeks. I will post details about our Christmas fun another day. Til then, Happy New Year to all!
Later,
Rebecca

i know what you mean…every day that goes by, i realize i’ll never get back with them. i know there will be a time when they won’t want to be around their parents, but until then, i’m going to enjoy them as much as i can now.
