Surprise! We’re Going to Disneyland!

Friday, September 12, 2014

If you’re looking for deals on your next Disneyland vacation, click the image below for the best prices on hotels, tickets and Disney vacation packages!

Yesterday was such a memorable day at our house! When the kids got home from school we surprised them with the news that we’re going to Disneyland and I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how well that went over!

Surprise! We're going to Disneyland! How we shared the news with our Kids!

I’ve been sitting on this little surprise for a number of weeks now and letting the kids in on it was one of the funnest things EVER! We enlisted the help of the fabulous team at Celebration Shirts to make this surprise a little extra special! Check out the AWESOME custom shirts we ordered from them to wear while we’re at Disney!

Custom Family Disneyland Vacation Shirts from Celebration Shirts

To share our surprise with the kids I put their shirts in gift bags with cute Disney themed tags (stay tuned for the free printable for these coming soon!) and let them open them up yesterday after school. I snapped photos while my husband took a video of the whole thing and it was absolutely adorable! My six year old daughter’s reaction was priceless! Here’s a little video clip….

Did you hear our four year old at the end of the video saying, “These shirts are AWESOME!” Well, they totally are! I’m so pleased with the beautiful job that Celebration Shirts did putting together these custom designed, retro logo T’s for us and we can’t wait to wear them on our trip!! I’ll be sharing more details about our shirts soon! In the meantime, if you’re planning a family celebration of any kind and you need some AWESOME custom t-shirts, Celebration shirts!

We are headed their in exactly a Month!!! I have a whole list of my tips. I can message them to you if you like. I’m going to be “Fairy” during the night and bring my kids disney goodies. Such as, autograph books, glow sticks, stickers, t-shirts, lanyards and pins. You can the dollar store is great place to get cheap disney items. Walmart, Target, and JcPenny’s have t-shirts. I think I’m even going to esty to make custom Disney halloween time t-shirts. Ebay for disney trading pins and lanyards. It’s going to be so much fun watching them wake of in the morning to each surprise!
Rider Switch and Fastpasses are amazing. Bring in water bottles and get free water through out the park.
I have a pages of ideas for you if you send me an email I can send you the word doc.

Have a great time! I’m lucky enough to be an annual passholder, Disneyland is such a fun place to be — it’s supposed to be really hot next week so pack that sunscreen and bring lots of water!

I stay at the Ramada Maingate once a month. Their free breakfast is the best in that whole 3 block area. The staff are so nice and beyond helpful. And going back to the hotel for a bit of time in their fun pool is a great way to rest up and split the day into 2 sessions. Don’t let the construction scare you, they are upgrading in style.

If you’re the type who likes to have a plan, definitely check out RideMax. A friend tipped us off to it before our first trip and it was awesome. I loved having a plan for our day so we didn’t waste time saying “Okay well where do we want to head next?” all day long. Even on the days we only loosely followed our plan, I’d say it was totally worth using. They also have a “tips” section on their website (that you can access once you purchase) that was worth the $15 price tag alone on our first trip. I’m excited for your family. We’ve gone several times now, but nothing compares to that first trip. 🙂

Love the family shirts! We have gone for the last 2 years for my son’s birthday. You’ll have a blast. Make sure to get your kid’s silhouettes done to bring home to frame. The same artists have been doing it for years and it’s really cool to watch them work. The shop is on the right side of the main street as you’re walking to the castle.

Oh, Rebecca – what wonderful news! We just got back from taking our 9 kids for the first time, my daughter chose it as her “wish” from Make-A-Wish. I cry every time I look at the pictures, because it was just SUCH a magical place. The memories are priceless. Oh, have a fantastic time – I know you will! And I’m sure I don’t need to tell you to take a lot of pictures… 🙂 They’ll thank you for it later.

PS – I’ve just recently found your site here, but enjoy it so much that I signed up for your class. I’m SO excited about it – can’t wait to get started!
