You have until tonight at midnight to post a comment about someone, something or somewhere that inspires you to scrapbook. Your name will be entered into a random drawing to win this super cool prize package that Kay over at Scrapbook Away has so generously donated.
Ok. Ok. This is so much fun….I’ll go first.
A few people who inspire me to scrapbook…
Something that inspires my page designs is this magazine. Lots of beautiful color and so much more!
Somewhere I get inspired….well. Chapters. Browsing around through books and magazines is HEAVEN! But I can get equally inspired sitting in my soon to be completed office (YAY for the cabinet maker man. He’s finally coming through for us!) flipping through the latest issue of Simple Scrapbooks, eating a little chocolate.
Ok. Now it’s your turn. Everyone ready? On your marks, get set…..
GO!!

Hi, Rebecca! I have to say that though I have 2 beautiful children that are my main scrapbooking subjects, I originally started scrapping because of a trip I took overseas. I just knew I had to document all of the beautiful things and places I saw. So even now, new experiences inspire me most!

I am always inspired when I walk thru Target! Love going there!

My girls inspire me, my hardworking talented husband, my friends … as far as something that inspires my layouts or challenges me as a scrapbooker, it’s seeing projects that people add to daily, i.e., daily pages by kristina contes, art cards by Allison Kimball, photo a day projects, etc. I love the idea of a little creativity daily and when I’m in that zone, I’m better for it.

fun!!! my 4 month old daughter inspires me to scrapbook. i just wish i had more time! 🙂 and new products definitely inspire me to create too!

I have three little darlings who inspire me to scrapbook…and all I need to do to get going is try to remember my firstborn in all her baby details. The things that I was sure I would never forget are, well, forgotten. All lost in the oblivion of my brain somewhere! But every detail that I actually got down onto a scrapbook page is remembered forever. I’m so grateful for this “hobby” that will bless my life and posterity for years to come!

What inspires me to scrapbook? Right now – Stacy Julian! I love her refreshing approach to scrapbooking – with her whispering in my ear (from her books, the SS magazine & the LOM class I’m on right now) I can’t fail to be anything but inspired!

My husband and 4 kids inspire me every minute! Because my mom died when I was 22, and my dad really didn’t think to keep our photo albums (such as they were – sparse!)I really don’t have anything of my childhood. So I’m making sure my kids have photos, but more importantly journaling, so they can look back and really know what they’re life was like, how loved they were, what their dad and I were like, etc. I am so intent on making sure they know, and Stacy’s LOM class has really helped me to tell those stories through pictures. Anyway, that’s my inspiration – my beautiful family! Not original, but to me, they are unique! 🙂 Lisa E.

I actually just found your blog from Christal’s. Good day to check new blogs out I guess 🙂
Anyways… things that inspires me to scrapbook. I really like to find quotes that I love or think are interesting. Then I go out an either take pictures that will go with them, or I dig through my old ones. I love to add cute, fun, or inspiring quotes to my pages. I also get tons of fun ideas from different magazines and books. Lately though, my newest inspiration has come from fabric. I find cute fabric scrap ends at the store and add them to my page.
Fun idea!

Okay… not to steal your idea, but SOMEONE who inspires me to scrapbook are my three kids. I have few memories of my own childhood and hope their scrapbooks help them to remember, or at least know how I felt about them at every stage of their life. SOMETHING that inspires me is your book and Becky Higgins’ sketches. Yes, I already have your book, but if I win, I’m planning on sending your book to my friend who is delivering her second baby today! SOMEWHERE that inspires me is at our local scrapbook store. I have to be amongst all the stuff since I can rarely pull out all my stuff at home with three little ones.

I know that this is probably a common comment but it is my children and husband that inspire me. Sometimes I cannot put into words how I feel so maybe I’ll find a poem that says it and putting it on a scrapbook page will be something to keep and read forever. Or I just want to let them know how much I love them or what I was feeling at that very moment of the picture or event that I scrap. They are my reason for all the joy and happiness in my life and sometimes “seeing” that can make them feel it and realize it more. ( “Yeah I know you love me you tell me all the time”) but when they read journaling about an event or whatever I scrapped it can make them truly understand just how much I do love them and why I tell them all the time! Just simply being with them and watching them brings me joy and scrapping allows me to show it over and over and over……

Of course my three lovely children inspire me. But after learning about Simple Scrapbooks a few years ago, I was totally inspired to change my whoel approach to scrapbooking. Stacy Julian was a big source of that inspiration with her book, The Big Picture. I no longer scrapbook just the “big events.” I focus on the little things about everyday life, the things that really matter, the things I want to remember. Scrapbooking is now enjoyable for me, not a chore I need to get done.

First of all I love Mondays! So I’m feeling lucky already. Of course my family, my husband and 3 children, inspire me to scrapbook but for the last two years we have lived in a remote part of Alaska and the beauty that abounds here and the adjustments our family had to make to move here have been incredible. We are only here for a few more months but we are quickly taking photos and scrapbooking as a family so we don’t forget a moment of our wonderful adventure here. Our family is stronger and closer than ever.

Hi Rebecca – I would say my two daughters are my greatest inspiration for scrapbooking. I didn’t have an interest in this hobby until my first daughter was born 6 1/2 years ago. I love creating pages with their two beaming smiles! It’s even more fun to watch them flip through the pages. My older daughter is now reading, so it’s so much fun to listen to her read my journaling to her younger 3 1/2 year old sister. I just started getting the two of them involved in creating their own scrapbooks – so much fun!!
My two greatest inspirations are you and Becky Higgins. I love your simple, beautiful pages!!

I get inspired when I speak with or read about other scrapbookers who are excited by what they are creating. Sometimes this will jog my memory of what I might want to say about a certain photo or person that I’ve been “stuck on.”
Magazines and books definitely start my juices flowing too, along with a great pic I took of my boys.
I love my scrapbook room. Sometimes I just go in there and sit and enjoy what takes place in that space. It is surprising to me how I am fulfilled in there. It’s peace, not pressure. It’s memories, and remembering. It’s love and creativity.
What a fun way to end a Monday! Thanks!

A good story inspires me especially if it is paired with a great photo. Sometimes interesting color combos will do it and of course magazines and idea books. Currently I’m taking a BPS class and that is giving me lots of inspiration. Initially, though I was inspired to start scrapbooking because my father was diagnosed with cancer. Before he died, he had a wish that he had published a book about his life. Unfortunately, that never happened. Now I see scrapbooking as a way that we all can “publish” a book about our lives before our time is up. Thanks!

Something that inspires me is the Gallery at Simple Scrapbooks. I’m working on an 11 x 8 1/2 album and I just click through the gallery looking for that size.

Rats I’m too late. 🙁 That’s what you get when you miss a day in blog hopping.
I get inspired by other people’s birthdays and special occasions. I don’t scrapbook all my pictures but I like to make special projects as gifts or for keepsakes for my own family. There is so much inspiration for projects out there, where do you even begin… Your work inspires me, of course. I love your simple style. Simple Scrapbooks magazine is great too but sometimes I get disappointed because there’s more “complicated” pages shown than “simple”. Less is more in my opinion. I browse the Internet and get excited when I find someone new who I didn’t know about. The gospel inspires me. It makes me love my family more and I want to remember everything FOREVER.
Rats, rats, rats I was too late. Oh well, I probably wouldn’t have won anyways since there are 100+ entries. Yeah, that’s what I’ll keep telling myself. 😀
