We’ve got a Christmas party to go to on Friday and they asked us to bring white elephant gifts. I’m trying to be so creative and come up with something cute/funny. But alas. My brain hurts and nothing has come to me. So post away, give me a funny – yet tasteful – idea for my white elephant gift or just stop in and say hi. I’d love to hear from you. I hope I’m not going to be SO embarassed when I find out only about 10 people actually read my blog – but I’m a master at bribery (how else do you think I get my kids to be in pictures?) so I’ve got a fun little surprise for poster number
…….come on now. You didn’t think I was actually gonna tell you the number did ya!
But seriously. I’ve picked a number and I’ll let you know who the winner is tommorow night. So happy posting. See ya’ll tommorow night.

Some big hits at my office Christmas party have been:
1. A live lobster
2. An Elvis clock (with swiveling hips)
3. A box of Godiva chocolates
4. Games
5. A laser level (I know, weird, but very popular)
Good luck!

I always think chocolate with white elephant gifts. Not really funny but they taste good.
Hope you get a better idea from someone else. 🙂

why not offer your services? You’re funny and very tasteful…
maybe get a frame with a note offering one 4×6 photo to be taken by you. I don’t know. I’ve never had to do a white elephant. I think the lobster would be hilarious! Knowing me, I’d want to keep him as a pet! lol

hmmm….seeing as I have had to do a few of these, we usually tend to end up bringing gag gifts…a few at some parties I have been to are: 1) a mask that adheres under your toilet seat, and so when the user of the toilet lifts the lid, they are scared. 2) some sort of Christmas decoration(not a gag gift, technically) 3) a beer bong 4)a hawaiian shirt 5) one of those cow cookie jars that moos when you open it. I will try and think of more. I know there have been some really good ones!

a couple things that have been funny at white elephant parties I’ve been to are
christmas toilet paper
ugly cross stitch/paintings from thrift store
box of fancy chocolates with “bite” taken out of each one (I did it with a spoon so they could actually eat them if they wanted, but real bites would be funnier)
cruise the clearance racks at TJMaxx or Ross… 🙂 Have fun!

something totally tacky is always fun. One thing that has been going around at our yearly gift exchange is a glow in the dark alien head piggy bank. it’s hilarious! Another year a blow up santa doll was a pretty big hit too 🙂

k—first of all I read…
and I would say maybe the singing fish with a santa hat….
I have no idea…I have never done a white elephant party..but that is what came to mind…maybe a bowling ball with no thumb hole….
