a pirate costume
Here’s a quick how-to for the pirate costume I made my son Carson last year.
-find 1 little boys white dress shirt, 1 pair of little boy’s black dress pants at thrift store
-crop pants and hem to just below the knee
-take the collar of the white shirt and fold towards the inside of the shirt, sew down. trim excess fabric from the collar and finish raw edge (if you want or you can just leave the collar in tact)
-using some scraps of white fabric sew ruffles onto bottom of sleeves and attach three layers of ruffles to the top of shirt as shown
-use a scrap piece of red fabric for a sash
-I bought the striped socks but I’m sure you could easily make your own with fabric paint & a pair of white socks
-using craft foam cut out two yellow/gold rectangles, cut out two smaller rectangles out of black and adhere to the yellow rectangles to make buckles. attach to a pair of black dress shoes
-I bought the hat and hook
As simple as that you have yourself 1 cute little pirate (and 2 pretty tinkerbells) all ready for halloween.
