Making Everyday Beautiful

a new do!

Wednesday, September 20, 2006

I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time now. But I just couldn’t part with those sweet baby curls!

Well, I had a stranger asked me one day when we were out running errands how old my little girl was and I just thought – you know what. I think it’s time we get ‘er cut buddy.

So yesterday was the day. The whole family went in – I got a cut and some highlights, Randal got a cut, Emily got a trim and Carson joined in the fun. And when I say fun I guess I mean I thought it would be fun. Carson – not so much. I had to hold him on my lap the whole time (and by hold I really mean restrain) and he screamed. A lot.

But I was so impressed with him letting me take his before and after photos. NEVER in my life have I had this child just sit there and smile at the camera for me like that – I mean not that didn’t involve a lot of fruit snacks, at least one screaming fit and plenty of me running around like a crazy person tryng to chase after him. It was so great!

There was just a tiny bit of this:

But then Emily pitched in and did a little of this for me:

And woohoo! Look at my big boy!

sniff. sniff. He doesn’t look like my little baby anymore!

So funny – I had similar comments about my son when he was much younger. But your son could have hair past his shoulders and he would still look like a boy (in his face) to me. He is so cute either way!

Hopefully the haircuts get easier for you. We finally had to buy a hair trimmer for our son because he was more comfortable getting cuts at home.

I think he looks a lot more like Randall now! I guess because he does look like a little older. So cute, though!

Haircuts totally change their looks, don’t they? He is still so sweet but definitely looking more grownup. Did you keep the curls for a LO??

Carson looks adorable! I know it was hard, though. I’m going to have to do it SOON… my almost 1 year old has hair in his eyes. I am pretty sure it’s going to make me cry. (sniff)

Rebecca he’s adorable! (your kids have such sweet faces! lock ’em up! lock ’em up!! 😉

Haircuts really do change their looks. My husband has been talking about our littlest needing a haircut but he is the first one of my three to have hair at this age and I love running my hands through it too much… I’ll have a hard time parting with his too…
