Simple as That

Making Everyday Beautiful

ask away

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

Well, I have officially lost all the energy needed to make this blog appear even remotely interesting.

I’m 9 months pregnant. That’s my excuse for everything these days.

Too tired to blog. Because I’m 9 months pregnant.
Can’t bend down and pick that up, sorry. I’m nine months pregnant.
What’s that? It doesn’t look like my clothes fit any more. Mmmmm hmmmm. I’m nine months pregnant.
Feeling a little grumpy today are we? YA! I’m NINE months pregnant.
How many cookies did you just eat honey? Glare.

So I need help…this little blog needs help. If anyone has any questions for me or ideas for things I could post about, have at ‘er. It would be lovely not to have to think about what to post about this week…I am nine months pregnant afterall and my brain (and my whole self for that matter) could use a good long rest.

🙂

    Hi Rebecca

My best friend is nine months pregnant also (with her first child), and thinks its high time the baby made an appearance. Do you have any advice that I can pass on to her, for what sounds like a particularly trying time? Of course, I’ll tell her that she can use the ‘I’m 9 months pregnant’ excuse.

Hi Rebecca, I’m a big fan of yours and am from Queensland Australia, we too are building and moving in in a matter of weeks. Perhaps you can blog about what rooms you invision will be your favourite and why and then when you move in let us know if they were, or if something about the house wowed you that you didn’t expect.. just a thought.

First of all, although I’m sure you won’t believe me and I do speak from experience being the mother of five, I think you look fabulous for nine months. Second, there is nothing worse than that slow, draggy ninth month. Hang in there! Soon enough your life will be forever altered by New Little One, so savor this time with your two little ones. For the blog…how about some nesting news. Bought anything fun for the New Little One? What colors do you like to use for bedding/decor? Any newborn must haves?

Well do you have any names picked out for the new baby? I just had my 4th boy 3 months ago, and I know the name picking is quite a task. What theme are you doing the babies room in? Have you moved into your new house yet?

Is there any recipes you want to share with us that your family really likes?
    Do you like to bake?
Have you started Christmas shopping yet?
(Hope that is a good range of questions for you….) btw though I love your blog and I don’t think it is boring.
I just want to let you know too how adorable I think you are. I love your scrapbooking style and you are for sure one of my inspiration girls. Thanks so much. I am still trying to get your book, but I work at our LSS and we are out and I don’t think she is getting anymore in and I can’t find it anywhere else here in town. 🙁 I don’t buy that stuff online anymore (I had problems with my credit card number getting hacked or soemthing and we got charged for this “adult” site…so I don’t do it anymore). I have however looked at it and I love it.
Good luck in your last moments. I know the reality hits right about now knowing at any moment you could be holding your new little one. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!
    Love, Nicole M.

How did you get into the world of professional scrapbooking? It’s something I would love to do someday. How do you find juggling family, wife-dom, church, and a social life with the fun work you do? (I guess that’s 2 questions – it’s okay, you don’t have to answer both, your NINE months pregnant, afterall)

    Rebecca,
I will give you 1 thought to think about. When your little one arrive and all the attention being given to him or her from all direction, have you thought about how your two older kids will feel?Sure they will be happy to have someone to play with (in many years to come), and you prepared them for the baby arrival. But please understand they are kids!! The baby got all the nice gift, why don’t I? The baby got all the praise, why don’t I? The baby got all mom’s attention, why don’t I?
    Get it?
So, in this last days, prepared for the older two instead. Small gifts for them, new story book, even banner that said “horray I’m now big brother!” with balloon…
    Well, that’s what I did!
    Happy nine months!!!

When I was 9 mo. pregnant with daughter number 2 someone asked me, “When are you due?” I replied, “Tuesday.” They thought that was pretty funny. Hang in there, it won’t be long now. By the way, I saw your segment on Fiskars TV last night and you are so cute! I love your style. I can’t wait to get your book.

I was wondering what you use for your Black back drop – do you use fabric (if so what kind)? Black sleamless paper?
I think that I saw a long time ago that you use the white seamless paper for your white, but never got what you use for black!

I read your book and loved it–it changed my whole perspective and the perspective of anyone to whom I’ve shown it (and by showing it to people, I mean that I wave it in front of their faces, open to a dozen or so pages while briefly giving the gist of the message there, raving all along about your genius, and then tell them that I hope they aren’t sold out and wish them luck at find such a drop of joy on their own.)

But I’m wondering, if you can help me a little bit more, by describing how you arrange things on your desk. I can copy you piece for piece, and your “schemes” are better than someone else who famously creates something similar, but I’d like to know how you start so that I can develop these pages a little more naturally.

Okay–a question of some kind. What are the 5 things that are absolutely on your desk when you create, that you can’t do it without, and if you have nothing more, you’ll be fine.

One more–what are the settings on you camera when you get those lovely head shots of your kids?

Thank you and best of luck with being pregnant–may it not be much longer.

    Hi Rebecca,
I just finished reading your book last night (I actually only started it the night before!). I LOVED it! I realized that I don’t make enough effort to find the time to scrapbook. But, I figure if you have 2 children, were pregnant and building a house during the creation of your book, then I have no excuses. I have just one child. Starting today I am going to put some of your tips to work. Thank you!

My question for you is: How do you organize your paper scraps? You use leftovers and scraps on a lot of pages, so you must be able to find them easily? I hate going through my scraps because they are not organized at all.
    Thanks!
Congratulations and good luck on the delivery of your newest family member!

Rebecca, you look amazing, at this time my best advice is massages..
Foot massage, back massage on a massage chair..feels great esp at 9 months. My question for you is about your camera, maybe you have answered this in the past but i’m a new fan. What kind do you use? what do you recommend? What lenses do you have or recommend? Good Luck on your delivery.

Hi Rebecca – I love your blog – your scrapbooking style has inspired me since I first noticed it back in ’04 in Simple Scrapbooks. The new book is great – so glad I pre-ordered my copy way back when.
I would love to know if you’ve got an amazing scrap/work space planned for your new house – if you do, what is it going to be like?
Thanks for continuing to inspire me with your scrapbooking and photography.

I’m with some other comments: what do you use for the backdrop featured in this shot? What about backdrops in general…where do you find you use them the most? I’d guess this shot was taken inside… but maybe not? I’m surprised you even have enough energy to blog in the 9th month! Good luck! Ditto on all the comments about how great you look 9 months pregnant! Best wishes….

What program do you use to organize your photos?

What program do you use to edit pictures?

Do you print out your pics at home, or bring them somewhere?

Do you print every single picture and store them until your ready to scrap, or do you print out the ones you need to scrap?

Best Wishes to you and your family – baby number three is so fun!
I love your book! It is my absolute favorite resource (You really got me back on track) always love to see your pages in SS – you are so genuine and your layouts are fun to scraplift – thank you for all the inspiration. My question/request 🙂 is will there be a Real. Life. Scrapbooking 2? I know that is kind of a mean question to ask you when you are 9 months pregnant, but I’m dying to know if it is something you would ever do again? You look fabulous. Congratulations on sweet little number 3! Andrea

Hi Rebecca, I think you look great and can only sympathise with you at the moment. The last few weeks are a nightmare, especially when you have other kids to take care of. I have three kids (5 yr old twins & a 2.5yr old). Anyway, just wanted to say good luck to you and can’t wait to hear the news!

Also, I have a couple of questions (I adored your book btw)… 1. Would love to know how you find time to scrapbook – I struggle with time – it usually comes to a choice between scrapbooking or housework!!

    2. A couple of others have asked this, but photography tips would be great. Your photos are awesome. I have a new digital SLR, but only know the basics on how to use it!

    Thanks and good luck again.

    Hi,
Love your book!!!My question is, I noticed in your book you do a lot of cute printing in white on dark background. I know most people print in reverse, white type then the printer prints the dark background on white cardstock, and the type comes out white. But as much as you do it, you would run out of ink so fast, and isn’t that expensive? How do you do it? My other question is how do you scrap events? Like trips to the zoo, fair, birthdays, etc?
