We had a busy little day today….going into the city for groceries, coming home and frantically trying to catch up on photo editing while the kids were at a sitter (there’ll be some sneak peaks coming soon…very soon) We then ate and rushed over to the new house to get some work done. The kids always love going over there to see what Daddy is doing. One of the kids in particular loves it A LOT…..
and when we get home from the new house he usually looks like this.
I am the designated clean up crew over at the house so I spent the night tonight sweeping up sawdust while the kids divided their time between the park that is right next door and the huge dirt hill in the soon to be backyard. At one point I checked to see what they were doing and Carson was laying down in a pile of dirt letting his big sister bury him. Which would explain why his pockets, his shirt and his diaper were fully of dirt when we got home.
So I’m exhausted…the kids were so tired I got none of the usual bedtime complaints and Randal’s still over there right now finishing up a few things. Oh how we’ll love being in this new house….we won’t know what to do with all our free time when this is all done!
It’s been a little while since I’ve shared pictures of our progress so here’s a couple.
This was June 19. All the interior walls framed in, just waiting for roof trusses.
watching the roof trusses go up.
Yes, that is the same man who shot a nail through his wrist last month. AHHHHH! I only screamed once while they were getting those trusses up and that was when a pile of them fell towards him while he was balancing on top of that wall….errrr he scares me sometimes!
and here’s about where we’re at right now. Waiting for the garage floor to get poured, shingles to go on and windows to go in all within the next 2 weeks (crossing our fingers!) It’s really coming along!

That would be my little girl with the dirty hands! 🙂 She likes her Barbies, but loves to go out it the dirt just as much.
I bet you are so excited to get into your new house. But, I’m sure you won’t have that much ‘free’ time…life has a way of throwing things at you…just when you’re done with one project…here comes another! Still, I am envious of you and your new house!

What is it with boys and dirt? 🙂 I was also the designated cleaner when we were building our house. I spent MANY hours sweeping up sawdust and hauling wood scraps to the garbage!

Hi Rebecca, just wanted to say THANKYOU for your book! I’m totally inspired all over again, just what I needed after three weeks of sickness (DD and DH which is worse LOL), the grumpy teething monster coming to visit, and feeling inadequate…got your book at just the right time! I’ve posted my latest LO at SS, called “Little Things”. The ideas just keep flowing now!
