This past weekend we had the chance to try something we’d never done before. We went snowshoeing in Waterton Lakes National Park with friends and it was SO much fun! The day was beautiful and sunny and the winter scenery was gorgeous!
Look at this big guy that we spotted on our way up to Cameron Lake! After snowshoeing and sledding for a couple hours we headed to the townsite to start a fire in one of the camp kitchens and roast hotdogs and enjoy some yummy snacks and hot chocolate.
You all know me and my aversion to the cold weather and I still loved this – just as much as our ice fishing adventure last winter!! If you ever have the opportunity to borrow or rent a pair of snow shoes I’d totally recommend doing a winter hike! It was such a fun family activity. My husband pulled the little girls in a sled since they couldn’t manage the shoes and they were in Heaven {after they quit fighting over who got to sit in the front of course}. 😉

Such beautiful photos! It almost makes me want to wish for more snow here. *Almost*
I have a question – when we are out doing winter activities I tend to use my iPhone for photos instead of my good camera because I don’t know how to take it along without it getting in the way (bag, around neck, etc.) or getting damaged. Do you have any tips of taking a DSLR out and about while participating in winter activities that will last several hours
