This baby girl is growing up way too fast on me! sniff, sniff. 🙁 We said goodbye to her beloved binky’s this past week and its been rough…for both her and mom. Sad times, because we haven’t been sleeping so good without them and sad because my baby, well, she’s growing up on me! 🙁
I love this picture – binky and all. How she’s playing my hair, the way she has since she was tiny. These are the details I want to remember forever. If I could remember exactly the way this feels….to have her snuggled on my shoulder, playing with my hair…that would be heaven.

I love this. Her face is precious.
We have tried to get rid of nuks – not happening yet – but we’re ok with that for now.
Your 8 year old is a great photographer!

Everything about this shot is so sweet…the moment, the binky….the processing. Love.

I love this…my little one plays with my hair all the time..it’s a comfot thing. She also plays with her own hair when she’s tired. You have inspired me to get a photo of her doing it! I don’t want to forget that she does that!

Aww. Sniff, sniff is right. Wish I’d know back 9 years ago that she would be my last. I might have savored it more.

Your words make this image so much sweeter, not that it isn’t standing on it own 🙂 We just went through this about 3 months ago. Thank goodness for the nuni-fairy! She left a whopper of a gift in trade 🙂

I agree with those feelings. I just want to hold on to my little ones forever and keep them under my wing. It is hard and sad to watch them grow up little by little. But so exciting for them at the same time.

Beautiful picture…
and I can Honestly say…
taking away the soother is by far the most challenging experience I’ve had as a parent, and it was way more me than even her.
Good luck!

I remember when the soother fairy came to exchange our now 13-year-old son’s soother for a mini-stick hockey set, complete with 2 mini-nets. While he loved the hockey set, we had many, many rough nights: trying to keep him in his crib, then trying to keep him in his room since we had to move him into a bed really soon afterwards since we were afraid of him hurting himself because he was always climbing out. More stressful, but overall maybe easier than getting our now 14-year-old daughter to stop sucking her thumb when that time came. I hope all goes well. I love the photo of her playing with your hair. One of my favourites of my son shows how he used to hold his bottle with one hand and twirl his own blond hair with his other; it would have been even nicer to have had one of us in it too (he was standing leaning back against our couch – very adorable).
