When we moved here {the island of Statia in the Dutch Caribbean} 6 months ago we weren’t able to bring very much with us. It was a tough thing, trying to squeeze what we thought we’d need for the next year and a bit, into a few suitcases & a handful of boxes. I shake my head at some of the things we deemed necessary at the time (we certainly didn’t need as many pairs of jeans) but other things we packed along, I know we could have never lived without.

In the category of “could never live without” falls our ERGObaby carrier! Our ERGO has been with us along this journey since we started our trip to Statia at the Calgary International airport and I’ve hardly gone anywhere without it since.

Our ERGO has come in handy at the beach, hiking the volcano, around the house while mopping floors or doing dishes and at the grocery store…pretty much everywhere me & baby go we have the ERGO with us. There are a lot of benefits to using ERGO carriers but what sold me on getting one after trying out my sister in law’s for a few weeks, was how comfortable it was to wear – even for longer stretches of time.

I’d tried out several different carriers before settling on the ERGO and none had been as comfortable for me. Sometimes they were for a short period of time but ultimatley ended up hurting my shoulders or low back. Even now, at 1 year old, I’m able to carry Alivia around in my ERGO without straining my back/shoulders. It’s seriously heaven!

 I could go on and on about how my ERGO has saved me with this whole four kids scenario – being able to hold the baby & still care for the other 3 kiddos has been such a lifesaver. Being able to have my babers close to me while still getting the regular everyday things done around the house – priceless. Extra snuggle time with my babies is always, always welcome!

  4. I would SO love an ERGO! I have a 4 month old who LOVES to be held and it would come in handy SO much! I’d love to take it on trips like to the zoo, etc. and having my son Jack close to me in a comfortable way to get extra snuggles would be great, too! I’ve heard wonderful things about ERGObaby and would LOVE to have one!

  28. I too have found ergo baby a little too late – not quite ready for baby #4 yet but I have been looking at these for a long time.   29. These are just awesome, I wish I have had one for a long time now! It would be perfect for me who likes to walk, hike and is on the go a lot with my 2 kids. My 18month old is very clingy so often ends up being carried rather than riding in the stroller… I really love them all but the gray one is my fav.

    Also, I myself don’t need an Ergo… because I have no children but an Ergo would make a fabulous gift. I have a friend who is expecting her second child this summer… when that baby’s born her son will just have turned two… Two under two… I think giving her an Ergo would be great!

  39. I would love an ERGO baby, I have been looking for a new carrier. For my first baby I used the Moby wrap and really disliked it. He slipped down–it would have been really nice to be able to carry him when he was a toddler or bigger as well. I need this ERGO baby carrier!!

  44. I need to have an ERGO carrier, because with little Emily almost 25 lbs. my arm can get pretty tired of holding her. As a photographer, we make trips to Gardens, Museums, etc. and you can’t always haul the stroller in with you, especially when you’re touring the city!
    This would be a blessing to have!

I am pregnant with #7, I homeschool my oldest 4 kids, chase around 2 toddlers, and am about to have a new baby (and my husband gets deployed a lot in the Army so I’m doing it on my own 50% of the time) – I think I definitely *need* an Ergo carrier!!   53. I have been looking to get one of these. I love the spring green performance one. My SIL let me try hers out and it was so comfortable. I have a hard time with carriers because I have neck and shoulder issues. I love how the weight is carried evenly.

  68. our 6 month old gets fussy right at dinner time so the ERGO would be great so i could carry her on my back.. I need the sport in blue because it is hot down here in south mississippi and it is supposed to breath better 🙂

  73. My husband and I have been looking for a carrier for a while now. Since he’s in school and I stay home all day with our little one, we don’t have much money to spare. We live in an apartment and have to walk to the laundromat, which is hard to do with a 5 month-old to carry. We also are looking forward to many hikes this summer, but we won’t be doing very many if we don’t have a baby carrier. I hope I win this! I love the grey performance carrier! Very versatile. 🙂

  81. I do childcare & am always pushing a stroller but an ERGO would free up my hands & let me give up that aweful beast! I have tried a couple of slings that feel ok while I wear them but the next day I am in pain!

    I would want the Performance one, either color. My husband and I are very outdoorsy people and the lighter weight and cooler fabric options would probably fit our lifestyle best! Plus, I wouldn’t stress out so much when we go hiking if my 21 month old was attached to my husband instead of running around like a wild animal!

  91. I really want to try out the new performance ergo as it now uses different fabric. I tried out the old version with our oldest child and found it too hot to wear. But with this new light fabric that is also quick dry it would be perfect for hiking with our two little ones!

  94. What a small world! I just discovered Ergo’s site yesterday when trying to figure out how I can celebrate my 30th in Costa Rica and hike Arenal Volcano with my would-be 15-month-old son.   109. I love the Organic Cranberry Twill carrier. Would love one of these for the little ones I chase around all day. I nanny for a 3 year old and almost 1 year old and the 1 year old loves to be held. Hard when getting other things done, but have tried out one of these carriers before and it was great!

    And, I like the grey performance ergo baby carrier. I currently have a 2.5 month old baby boy who loves to be carried. I have a front pack, but it is killing my back and shoulders already. He likes to ride in it when we go on walks and in the house. By about half way through a half an hour walk I am feeling it! He doesn’t even weight that much yet! I would love to try out another type of pack…it sounds like it works great from your blog! I know that we want to have more kids so I am sure it would get plenty of use!   134. I just learned about this company, and all along my favorite has been the ERGObaby grey performance carrier.

    Having a ERGObaby carrier would definately make things a little bit easier for me getting things done in and around the house, as a mom of a 3yr old, and a set of 9 month old twin boys, there is ALWAYS one boy who “needs” mommy time, which is usually while I’m doing laundry, cleaning, outside, etc. Having the “spare hands” available would be great!

I am loving the Organic twill Sienna and the original Camel. I’ve tried another carrier but it really hurt my back and it didn’t have the infant support system that I love about this design! Thanks!

  168. I am a fallower. I have been wanting an ergo for 5 years now and just never have the money. I have 3 girls and my younest is 6 monthes. I do have a ring sling but that hurts my back, she is over 18lbs.

  178. Baby #4 is due in the next two weeks. I’ve tried several baby carriers in the past and have found only one that is truly comfortable for extended periods of time. It’s also hard to justify buying something that may or may not be comfortable. The Sleepy Wrap is great for babies up to about 6 months but I would love to have something for when they are older (and heavier!). Pick me, Rebecca! I would love the grey performance carrier.     I am having my 2nd child due in Aug. so I know I WILL use this carrier all the time! I have tried it out and love love it, would love to win a carrier! I just have the Baby Bjorn but I know that I wouldn’t be able to use it after my baby reaches 20lbs and that it’s only a front carrier. I would love love to have the ERGO carrier, it help a lot since my husband is in the military on a limted income, I was given the other baby carrier.   197. My good friend has an Ergo and I am dying to get my hands on one!!! I love that there is an organic option and all the accessories that you can get for them. My problem with my other carriers is there is either no hood or it is so inconvenient to use that I never pull it out. I love how the ergo hood is always attached and ready, yet easy to put away. I’m ready to get my own!! 🙂

  237. I have been wanting one of these forever. I originally decided the the cost wasn’t worth it and went with a cheap sling but now my son is 8 months old and weighs 20 lbs. The sling kills my shoulders. I would definitely go with the galaxy gray just because I love stars. 🙂

I have tried to Moby Wrap and the Baby Bjorn but have massive back pains due to them. Many people have told me that the Ergo was much better on the back. I am also on the go a lot and like to do a lot outdoors. I could really use something trustworthy to tote my little princess around.

    Which Ergo?? I have such a hard time deciding! I like the performance in grey and also love the galaxy (original).
    I NEED an Ergo carrier because 1) I hear it is the best 2) I am a very active mommy expecting my 3rd child soon and need to still keep up with my other two and 3) We are AP parents!! 🙂 Baby wearing is so important to us and to have a great carrier would be icing on the cake. The carriers I had my our older ones hurt my shoulders and back. I have been told by many friends the Ergo never hurts to wear! 🙂

  353. I love the look of the ERGObaby spring green performance carrier. Don’t really know all the differences between them but love the the GREEN!

    I’m heading to Paris with my sister and my 6month old and know this carrier would be great. I was looking into buying one actually. 🙂 I was in three major car accidents (not my fault…just bad luck) so my back is bad from that already. Hoping this carrier will not hurt my back while carrying my little one around.

I NEED an ERGO because I deliver big babies who LOVE to be carried/worn! My daughter was 8lbs 12.5oz and my son was 10lbs 9oz! I need something strong for them and something that won’t hurt my shoulders and back! I would LOVE to win one since I can’t afford one right now!

  374. Well, this is our first child, she is nearly 10 months old and getting heavier by the day. I have the Bjorn carrier, which worked well for her while she was under 6 months. My favorite one is the Ergo Performance in Spring Green. I like it because it is light weight, has some moisture wicking qualities, and can carry the baby in multiple positions, and from what I’ve read is very comfortable and easy on your back unlike the Bjorn! My daughter seems to want to be attached to my hip 24/7, I’m super excited to see how the Ergo works for me! I need something that will last through all stages of her upcoming toddler-hood and our future kids! Can’t wait for the results of the giveaway!

  380. I am a follower and I actually have one of these and have used it when I lived in NY as well when my 2year old broke her leg It is awesome!! Now I am using it for my 1 year old.   397. My favorite carrier is the new ERGObaby Options Baby Carrier — I love that you have the option of just black or being able to personalize the carrier.

    I am currently pregnant with my first baby, and have been looking at the ergo carriers well before I conceived and I’m hoping/praying I get the chance to get my hands on one!

    I have heard so many great things from friends about the carrier and I love how you can wear the carrier many ways and that it is SO comfortable! I am sure that it would make my baby wearing a lot easier, as well as my life as a first time mom 🙂

  398. I just became a follower too. We are expecting our third and I have worn both of mine at church and around town using a maya wrap. The problem is my girls have both been close to 25 lbs by their 1st birthdays and the maya just doesn’t feel good at that point. I love the Original Cranberry.
