If you’re anything like me it seems like most of my communication with friends/family these days is by phone or email. Its just so easy and convenient. Email is my preferred method of communication I have to admit – when I’m writing an email nobody can hear the kids screaming in background.
๐
But this past year as Emily has been learning to write its really made me step away from the computer a little bit more, pull out the writing paper and the stamps and send out a few letters to friends/family. Emily is so enthusiastic about writing little notes to her Grandparents (and everyone else she knows for that matter) and its really rubbed off on me. This renewed enthusiasm for letter writing sparked the ideas behind this online article I did a few months back for Simple.
That’s why I was so excited when Elizabeth at Stampin’ Up emailed me about the fun eScape they are hosting for the month of June. If you’d like to join in and break free from the emails and text messages for a day (or two or three) and send someone you love a handwritten card here’s your chance…
Stampin’ Up has sent me some fun card making supplies to share with my super cool blog readers, anyone want ’em? You’ll get some cute stamps and all the supplies you’d need to create these adorable cards that you can then pop in the mail. Sound like fun? Just leave a comment and tommorow morning I’ll choose a winner.
Sounds like a great idea! It’s always such a nice day-brightner to get something other than bills in the mail, especailly something handmade from a loved one. Those notes are adorable!!
Have a great day!
Definitely sound like fun ๐ Adorable cards. I just love reading your blog, you always inspire me, thanks!!
ooooh i’d love some! Stampin Up is GREAT!
Hi Rebecca ๐
I haven’t popped in for a visit in so long but gosh…..I can’t believe how big the kids are getting! Amazing and so cute! I always feel sad when I don’t get to visit my favorite blogs as often as I’d like but then, when I finally do, it’s fun to do the catch up….reading lots of posts vs. one!
Have a great day!
I LOVE getting letters/cards in the mail, so I think this is a super cute idea! ๐
cute little notes! they look so fun to make!
i too have begun to write more now that my son is learning to write. It’s so refreshing!
I’d love to send some mini cards to my family and friends.
What a cool prize! I would LOVE to win some letter writing goodies … my little girl has discovered letters and stamps as well recently and it would be so fun to share this with her. ๐
So true! Funny how kids break us out of our comfort zones. I love stampin’ up stuff!
So fun… my daughter who starts kindergarten in the fall loves to send handwritten notes to family and friends. I also send a good friend a little note every week in the mail… it is fun (although the majority of my writing is email, too). Now if I can figure out how to email doctors’ offices, etc. so they don’t have to listen to my screaming kids in the background.
I love stampin’ up – I also love sending cards in the mail. Maybe it’s because I love getting mail myself! My daughter also loves to mail cards – she can’t write yet but she dictates to me and I write down what she wants to say – it’s really fun (and funny)
-Brooke in Dallas
I love stamps! Who doesn’t? My kids are doing the same thing right now. Grandma is on an extended vacation so I’ve had the kids draw pictures to mail her. It made me want to mail something too so I sent out some thank you cards! It’s so easy to forget about snail mail nowadays.
love those! i am still all about making cards and using good old fashioned mail for that ๐
count me in please!
Great idea. You are so right, we are all consumed with computers, email and the like that I don’t really think anyone sits and writes anymore!! Maybe that is part of the appeal with hands on scrapbooking. Whipping out the paper, glue, pens and scissors is definitly refreshing and a nice change from a plain keyboard and screen! And I agree…there is nothing like recieving a handmade card, handwritten out of the blue in the mail!! So simple, yet can be such a great surprise and can definitly brighten anyone’s day!
This does remind me that I rarely send snail mail. What cute cards!
I have always loved stampin up stuff! i agree—summer is busy-we all need to step away. A hand written note is the best!
Hi Rebecca. I’d love to win. They look adorable and would be a fun project to do with my kiddos this summer.
Have a blessed day!
Stacy P.
Cute cards! I love the idea of focusing on hand written notes–much more personal and meaningful.
what a fun idea love these cards and you know I love scrapbook stuff!hope all is going good with you! ttyl
I love Stampin’ Up & this is a great idea! Thanks. -Melissa
My 5 year old just wrote her first letter to a friend. It took me a week to be able to give this memory up and send it in the mail (after I copied it of course!) Watching her dig through the dollar bin at Michael’s to find the cutest pad of paper is like watching myself at her age. Isn’t it amazing how early we find our true passions? I see a future scrapbooker in this little girl!
Email is convenient, but admit it, not as exciting as finding a pretty piece of paper in the mail with a note from a friend.
I love Stampin’ Up & this is a great idea. Thanks!
Those are so dang cute! I do wish I sent more cards, and letters! I love receiving stuff like that! So fun!
I just love what I call ‘snail mail’. There is nothing like a personal note from a friend or family member! Even better when on a homemade card. Love the idea – Sandra
I know what you mean, we have 2 kids, one plays softball 2 nights a week and another plays baseball 2 nights a week. My grandpa just had heart surgery last week and we had a new nephew born last week also, so I would love to have these to send out to loved ones!!
Too cute!! Would love to send some family and friends something handmade in the mail. who doesn’t love getting a card in the mail!?
Wow, that is such a great idea. My daughter has been into sending everyone in our family notes. This would be so cool!

Oh…are those cards stinkin’ cute! I would love a chance to win!
Since my Grandkids moved to Chicago I am sending them more cards and little notes. These would be great.
Leslie
Sounds great! I love getting anything in the mail, but especially something that isn’t bills or junk mail. Thanks!!
Amy
I got a card in the mail the other day and thought…if had the right supplies…I could probably do this too. I am always up to trying something new!! ๐
Love this idea…my mom is a card writer and I love each one I receive from her!
Betsy

Those cards are so cute! Thank-you for the chance of winning awesome Stampin’ Up products.
I loved your summer update post. (I’ve got to learn how to make a collage.)
So glad you have had a few minutes to blog lately! Hopefully you’ve been able to scrap, too! Love, love, LOVE Stampin’ Up! and those cards!!!
This is a great idea!
My family moved away from all our relatives and our hometown more than 13 years ago when my children were still small. I would love to start handwriting notes and cards again to all our family!
Thanks so much!
Heather
I am terrible about letter writing and would love the motivation to get better at it. Thanks for sharing.
I love receiving a card in the mail. I really have to get better about sending out more cards and handwritten notes.
Thanks for offering up a great prize!
Cheryl K.
Very cute card design too. Missed hearing about you and your family. Good to see you back in the mix. ๐
I heart making cards- it’s my second favorite hobby after scrapbooking! It means alot to see that someone actually took the time to jot down a note ๐
Oh this is lovely!! During the Lenten season, I try to send out a card or letter everyday for the 40 days. I found I keep up with that instead of actually giving something up. It is sad though that the only time I send out cards are during lent or christmas! So this would be great to win and make snail mail, HAPPY mail.
angie
I would love to win these cards!!!
Have a Great Day!
Rhiannon
cute cards!and a great idea!
Thank you for sharing the wealth! Can you send some of your talent along with the card-making supplies too?
Getting notes in the mail is great and these notes are so cute that it will certainly brighten the recievers day.

Such a nice change from email! I used to love writing letters when I was younger!
I love Stampin Up and I love the feeling I get when I receive a hand made card in the mail! Great idea!
What a great idea. It’s been a while since I sent a hand written note and this is a great inspiration for it. Thanks!
That is a fabulous idea! the art of writing is often lost these days.
LOVE this idea…
Homemade mail is the best to recieve…
I really want to get into making more cards to send to family and friends.

Hi Rebecca
Hello from Singapore. Its a long way from where you are but I had been inspired by you since reading your book. Serached out your website/email as well ๐ Felt as if I know you after reading, it was very real and definitely life.
I had started on cards as well but still on the experimental stage and had only done one card for my parents wedding anniversary recently. Hope to get more ideas to expand my cards’ repetoire!
It had been so great, reading your blog ๐ I will definitely be a constant reader!
Take care!
Lovely idea! Always nice to get something with a personal touch.
Love them! My son is to practice his writing this summer by sending letters to far away family and friends, so this would be a perfect project for us to do together!
My daughter is getting into card making and letter writing too – would love some supplies to help us create! Jennifer W.
love the little cards would love to win them
This would be a great! It seems like I am always looking for a card or something to send at the last minute for a birthday, anniversary, a thank you or a quick hello.
I love making cards…and Stampin’ Up! has such wonderfully cute items! What a good idea. I have two boys, one of whom is ten. He loves to write, too, and I never thought to make cards for him to send out! He usually just writes on some stationery paper I have for him. Thanks for the inspiration, Rebecca!

Would love to send out some sweet little notes – love that Stampin’ Up stuff!
From your fellow Canuck,
Carol K. from MB
Awesome idea!!! I’d love to give it a try!! I’m an email junkie, would be nice to find an excuse to get away from the computer and send a little love in the mail to all my family back in Canada!
Jessica in Texas (born and raised Calgarian!!)
so glad I checked in tonight! I have a mental list of those I want/need to send notes to. I was thinking that I would like to make something, but then did not want to add to my procrastination of having to have things perfect. Your cards would be just the thing!
I always try so hard to be better about this but always seem to fail. I too would rather email but on the flip side would rather get a nice note in the mail than on the computer. This just may inspire me to step away from the computer and send a letter out!
Thanks for the chance to win such a fun gift!!
Love Reading Your Blog! I would love these cards! Amy in Wisconsin
Hey Rebecca! I am so inspired by your beautiful photography and scrapbook style.. in a world of complicated stuff, your pages are so sweet and simple and utterly gorgeous! I have three small kids, and not much time, but I always check your blog, and projects!
I love your idea of handmade notes, and would love the supplies! Thanks!
Naomi Atkins
glad you’re back. love the cards!! -amber
Love Stampin Up! products and could use these cards to keep in touch with friends and family. I too have been relying on email for quick hellos but nothing beats a handwritten letter.
glad you’re back! love the cards!
-amber
It’s always so fun to get mail and even better when it’s something personal! Homemade cards and handwritten letters are so special and it is sad it’s such a rare thing anymore. I would love to see this be the new trend…people stepping away from technology and getting personal again. Rebecca, you are always so inspiring…thank you!
how great. i would love those cards ๐

I’ve always been a letter/note writer but have to admit that has slowed down since email is so quick and easy. The cards look so cute! The supplies would definitely get me back into letter writing mode. Happy Summer!
It’s true, not many things are more fun than receiving a hand-written letter/card.
Thanks for the giveaway.
Liz
Oh my….look at all your comments already. Got room for another one? Darling! You’re right… nothing tops a handwritten note!
Love this whole concept of getting off the computer, because this is exactly what I’ve been telling myself this past week. Love your cards. They turned out great.
My daughter loves to make cards to send to Grandma and she loves it even more when Grandma sends her one back. What a special way to make some one feel important!
That would be awesome! I have been thinking of ways to keep in touch with my husband, as he leaves this weekend to move to Seattle for work, and i’m back in CA for another month (alone with my 2 dogs :*(..and move back to my hometown in OR for a few months until we can find a house in another city in OR that he’ll be transfering to (looong story lol)-anyways- handwritten notes will be so cool (and romantic! lol) I love stampin up!! ๐
Lacey
I love cards! I love making them, writing them and sending them. And I love your photos!
I’m not sure I even know how to write anymore. Everything I do is on the computer or just signing checks once in a while. I would love to give writing a try again with you’re cute cards. Jennie B
oooh! yes please!
*mindi*
What a great idea…I would LOVE to start writing letters again and what a cute set to help do that!!! These cards are just adorable……

My cousin’s eight year old daughter also is into writing notes these days and I’ve been thinking that it would fun to give her a set of cards or stationery.
As a 2nd grade teacher, the value of writing is immense to me. It’s a major part of my school day (I mean, what subjects do they NOT write in or about?!)
Your post reminded me to take some cards along to the cabin this weekend and not my laptop. Thanks! Cute cards, by the way!
Thanks for a great blog!
OOOh…hope I’m not too late (it’s “tommorrow morning” right now). I would LOVE these. I need to get back into writing real notes. I’m an e-mail/blog addict but that is just not the same.
oh I love Stampin Up!! Cute cards!!
OMG they are gorgeous and I love writing to people, especially thank yous. Love your blog and your book !
Those are adorable! Just what I would need to break into stamping too!
My daughter also just finished Kinder and is constantly writing notes and letters to deliver to people. I love that she is so excited about it (I am just not sure what to do with all the notes she has written to the Disney Princesses : ) Thanks for the contest!
these are so cute! love their products! would love some!!
kristy c.
I hope I’m not too late. I’m a huge letter writer and would love the supplies.
Your photo collage was just awesome too! ๐
Those stamps are adorable! I love to read your blog and it was fun to run into you at michaels!
So fun! Such a great idea! ๐
How cute! I’d love one…or a few!
Kelly
I LOVE getting cards/letters in the mail…SO much better than bills and circulars (which we can always count on! LOL!) E-mailing is convenient and allows us quick answers, BUT…not as fun as getting a well-loved card in the mail! Thanks for sharing!
Glad to see you’re back on your blog! The handwritten note is a dying art form, kudos to you for trying to resurrect it!
Cute and simple card design. And don’t we all love receiving a nice not in the mail?
Such a good idea! Thanks for sharing!
Monica
What a GREAT idea! We need a little more personal communication in our lives. Who doesn’t LOVE getting something in the mail. Seems like a thing of the past these day.
How fun! I need to do more of that- making little cards and such.
