My friend Angie Lucas is running her Grammar-Free Journaling workshop at Big Picture Classes beginning August 15th. Cost for the workshop is $35.00 and you can enter today to win a FREE spot in class! Scroll down to read more about this fun + useful workshop!

How to Win a FREE spot in the Grammar-Free
Journaling Workshop:

Simply leave a comment on this blog post telling me one Summer memory you need to get journaled or scrapbooked ASAP!

Class Description:

Who’s teaching this class? Hi, I’m Angie Lucas, word nerd extraordinaire, and I’ll be your Grammar-Free Journaling instructor.

Is “grammar-free journaling” a thing, or did Angie Lucas make it up? Okay, okay, I made it up. The idea is to tell truly compelling stories in creative new formats using the fewest words possible—and to stress less about paragraph flow, sentence structure, transitions, and the rules of writing.

What does Angie Lucas have against grammar? Absolutely nothing! I’m willing to bet that I love grammar even more than you do. But just in case you don’t like it, I’ll show you 12 useful strategies for skipping the grammar altogether.

Who is this “Angie Lucas” anyway? I’m the new Editorial Director at Big Picture Classes, a professional writer and editor since 1998, the founder of Ella Publishing Co., the former managing editor at Simple Scrapbooksmagazine, and an average pianist (which is not at all relevant to this workshop).
Read the rest of the description + view a short intro video here.

Good luck with the giveaway everyone! It will close Sunday at 12am MST.
A winner will be announced Monday!

Big Picture Classes always has such amazing workshops, here are a couple more that are coming up that totally caught my eye:

So this may sound a tad strange but I would love to scrapbook the struggles I have endured this summer. A reinforcement of my pursuit to bigger and better things ahead. I feel our failures lead to success, without them we wouldn’t realize we’ve made it out the other end and being so I’d love to take opportunity of such a nifty workshop. Fingers crossed.

Our Summer memory this year isn’t so much that we have an event to remember, but perhaps maybe a life. We are a US Navy Family living in Japan, and my husband’s schedule has been such that we weren’t able to take any sort of vacation. He was allowed one day off to say good-bye to our 14-year old “son”. Our Siberian Husky, Bastyan, passed away last June, and I’ve been at a loss at how to commemorate the blessing he was as part of our family. I’m a newbie scrapper, and already having difficulty creating pages and journaling to reflect our lives and experiences. But this one has really thrown me for a loop!! How do I tell all the wonderful stories about Bastyan, do justice to his unique personality and express what he has meant to us as a part of our family…how do I sum up 14 years of blessings!! Maybe Angie Lucas’ “Grammar-Free Journaling” can help put me on the right path and get my thoughts and memories in order…

I want/need to journal all the funny sayings my family came out wiht during our annual “Camp McGrew” family camping trip . I made a list in my notebook but now I need to put them on my scrapbook layouts.
This class would be SO MUCH FUN to take. I am very interested in learning and trying new ways to journal thoughts!

A fave summer pastime right now is the kids playing at the splash pad; love how just a bit of water mixed with sand will have them enjoying the outdoors for hours, plus I get a bit of ‘me’ time just relaxing and watching them play. Love these moments! Thanks for the chance to win!

I need to create an album for our belated honeymoon to Virginia! I have everything, but I’m having trouble getting started. I’m not even sure how to start writing about our trip. This would definitely be helpful. Thanks for the chance!

This year my daughter finally, jumped off the boat, into the lake. She’s been talking about it for a year, at least. She wanted to do it, but then couldn’t go through with it. She finally did it, and then we couldn’t keep her in the boat! It was great! She was so brave! I want to remember that!

This year, my daughter finally jumped off the boat and into the lake. She has been talking about doing it for at least a year. She had a hard time going through with it. We tried to encourage, but she had to do it at her own speed. Finally, when no one was paying any attention, she just did it. And then we couldn’t keep her in the boat. All she wanted to do was jump into the water. It was awesome. That’s what I want to remember this summer.

I’m living out-of-state from my immediate family while taking care of my elderly mother, which means I’m missing out on watching my baby grand daughter (and first grandchild) grow up. I was able to go home for a two week visit this summer and got to spend much of that time her, and of course I took lots of pictures that I want to scrapbook. I never know what to write and your Grammar-Free journaling sounds like just the ticket!

So needing this class for some innovative ways to journal stress free! My mother has Alzheimer’s and I just moved back to be closer to her. I have been documenting times with her and my kids and the rest of the grandchildren and would like to make a special page including memories of grandma or memories that she has of each kid for each one of the grandkids before she loses all of her memory. So important to me and with as many grandchildren as i have to document i would love to do each page in a special and different way.

I am currently at the beach with three of my girlfriends after spending three months at the hospital, taking care of my dad. One of them took pictures today of me feeding the birds on the beach. She said that while I was feeding them, I was laughing and having such a great time, showing no worries in the world. She said that was the first time on the trip that I had that type of laughter in a long time.

My three kids all learned to swim and ride bikes this summer. Where we live there isn’t much opportunity to do either, so it was just great that we got to vacation in a place where the kids could learn such fun things!

How my oldest son came home to visit me this summer in my new house. And even though the new house still seems so new to me, it was clearly how it already feels ‘at home’ for him.

It turns out that where I am, his mother, that will means ‘home’ to him. That really touched my heart!

In June I was able to fly up to my Sister’s to celebrate both my niece and nephews birthdays. We had a great big party with lots of family and friends. I have lots of pictures that I need to get scrapped before I forget all the little fun things from such a filled to the brim, no stopping long weekend. Journaling is always the thing that makes me put off getting things done. This would be a great class for me. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I need to journal my daughter’s first sleep away camp experience, preferably in her own words. It is something that she will never experience again and I want her to always remember it.
