Making Everyday Beautiful

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Monday, February 14, 2011

Tired of keeping up with the holiday hustle? Enjoy a calm season filled with MORE memories & LESS overwhelm: Join us for 12 Days to a Simpler Holiday Season.

It’s Valentine’s Day & I hope everyone has some fun plans to show the people that mean the most to them just how much they love them! What kind of things are you doing to spread the {LOVE} today?
We’re going to deliver valentines to a few of the kids friends this afternoon. Eat heart shaped pancakes for lunch & spend some much needed time with the dad  at the beach!
Here’s a quick how-to for the simple cupcake liner valentines we made this year. I scoured the island for some cute supplies to use & this is what I came up with.
Cupcake liners
+
 a cursive  writing pad
 +
 some construction paper
 +
little bits of miscellaneous scrapbook paper
 +
 a package of random buttons
 +
some little flowers off some gift packaging
+
a stapler and regular old hole punch
=
 super simple, but sweet valentines.
To create the eyelet edge on the first one you simply:

1. fold your cupcake liner in half, then in half again, then in half again

2. using regular scissors or a pair of scallop edge scissor if you have some cut the edge of the liner

3. leave your liner folded and use your hole punch to punch holes inside each scallop

4. your cupcake liner will now look like this

5. open up your cupcake liner & voila
6. now its time to embellish your valentines. cut out some hearts & circles in varying sizes. using buttons, brads, letter stickers or anything else you can think of, create your one of a kind cupcake liner valentines.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

These valentine’s are so charming! I LOVE the mix of writing paper, and the hole punches to make an “eyelet” edge. So cute!
