My kids just went to bed…and it’s like 9:45pm! Gotta love summer. Also gotta love getting back on a schedule when fall rolls around! These kids are usually in bed by 8:00 – 8:30pm and we’ve had a few too many late nights recently. They’ve been sleeping in for us in the morning (heavenly!!) but Carson has been one little grumpy bear I tell ya! 🙂
So let’s see…where to start. Well, I’ll share a few pictures from our trip to Utah how ’bout?
Like I said, we had a lot of fun while we were there. Crammed a lot into our little vacation actually. Here’s a few of the highlights…
We went to the rodeo at the Delta Center one night. The kids absolutely LOVED it!
We visited the ‘This is the Place monument’ on probably the hottest day EVER! We wanted to spend a little more time looking around but it was just too hot to be outside.
I got to spend some time at the Simple office. Got a tour even! It was such a cool thing for me to see and so much fun to see these ladies again and meet Rachel, Carolyn and Elisha whom I’d never met in person before !! Definately a huge highlight of my trip!
We spent half a day at Seven Peaks water slides and the kids had a blast. (We had to find something to do to cool off!) Emily was so much braver than I thought she’d be and went on quite a few slides with Daddy while Carson and I hung out in the kiddie pool.
We got to go to the good old Preston, Idaho rodeo (I went to two rodeos in one week which is more than I’ve been to in my whole life! Yeehaw!!!) and Emily went on her first ferris wheel ride while there and Carson his first ride on a carousel. On our way home from Preston we stopped with our friends at their parents house and got to do some fishing and a little horseback riding.
We toured around Temple Square.
We enjoyed one night in Midway – which was so beautiful. Did some shopping at the outlets in Park City on the way there. Randal got in a few holes of golf. (None of this is in order either by the way…I’m just typing as I remember things…sorry.)
I have to share this photo of Carson in his carseat (last one I promise! Well, last one of the trip anyway!). The kids were so good on the drive there and back…much better than I could have hoped. Carson spent a lot of time just reading his books. It was so cute.
Since we’ve been back I’ve had several photoshoots. We went to my ten year highschool reunion too – which was a bit of a bust. Not very many people showed up.
AND….
This week we had Emily’s birthday!!!
Four years old! I can hardly believe it! We had her first friends party on friday – a hawaiian luau with four of her little friends and they had so much fun. Then on saturday all of my family came down to our house for lunch and cake.
Here I am wishing she wouldn’t grow up so fast but Emily could not wait to turn four and ever since her birthday has been informing me of various things like “Mom I’m four now I can pour my milk all by myself.” or “Mom now I’m four, look, I’m this tall…”
So we’ve gotten the house cleaned and put back together after a weekend of parties and this week it’s back to the same old same old. I’ve got a couple of photoshoots this week that I’m excited about and I’ve got a few pictures to share from some recent sessions tommorow.
