Saturday Share No.7 – Loose Tooth Collection

Saturday, October 19, 2013

Want to capture magical moments with your phone? Join our 7-day email course, Beyond Snapshots, and master the art of mobile photography. Learn more.

Our Addie girl lost her first tooth last week and its been a really exciting time for her!  Of course, I needed to document this momentous occasion, but I couldn’t find quite what I needed in the way of journaling cards, etc. so I decided to create the Loose Tooth Collection. Keep reading to see how I’ve put these cards to use in Addie’s Project Life® mini album and enter to win the entire collection – for boy or girl! *ETA: Winners names have been announced at the bottom of this post.

Don’t forget to link up your latest pocket page projects in the Saturday Share linky as well, I can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on!

Addie has been helping me put together a cute mini album all about her Kindergarten year and we decided to add a page spread about losing her first tooth to the album. You can see more pages from the mini album here and here. It’s been such a fun project to work on together!
The night she put her tooth under her pillow I had her write a quick letter to the tooth fairy on a Project Life® ledger card and then slipped it right in the album with a few photos + some quick journaling.
The Loose Tooth Collection includes (2) 4×6 filler cards, one of which is a tooth chart where you can record the dates your child looses their teeth. It also includes (4) 3×4 journaling + filler cards perfect for recording these special memories.

I created a 12×12 layout using the Loose Tooth Collection to show you a bit of variety. I printed all the cards at my local photo lab just for the convenience of picking them up in 1 hour, but I’ve also used Persnickety Prints in the past and was so happy with their service! I especially love the fact that you can order 3×4 prints and you can order your prints with rounded corners.

When you purchase the Loose Tooth Collection it comes with a PDF printable version of the cards so you can easily print them at home on white card stock. The set also includes individual JPG versions of each card which are perfect for creating digitally – see example layout above.

*ETA: Congratulations to the following ladies who all won a set of Loose Tooth journaling + filler cards: Elena #11, Natalie Putnam #39, Anika #20, J.Hopkins #31, Lisa Johnson #41
Please contact me using the SAY HELLO tab at the top with the collection you’d like – boy or girl and I’ll get it emailed to you ASAP. 🙂

Purchase the Loose Tooth Collection here.

Enter to win a set of cards by leaving a comment on this post telling me about one of your favorite tooth fairy traditions in your family. Five winners will be chosen next Wednesday! 🙂 Here’s a peek at what the boys collection looks like…

Now it’s your turn! We’d like to invite you + your friends to share your photo pocket style layouts too! Share your tried and true tips, link a related blog post, photos you’ve uploaded to Pinterest, whatever works for you. Simply follow the prompts in the linky widget below to link up.

Make sure you stop by and visit Imaginisce, Pebbles, My Sister’s Suitcase, Sweet Rose Studio, and Balancing Home for even more Halloween Project Life® ideas!

What a beautiful page! My daughter’s tooth fairy leaves golden coins under her pillow worth $1 each. She is always quick to spend her allowance but she can never bring herself to spend her tooth fairy money! Thanks for sharing!

Growing up my mother would have us a put our tooth in a empty medicine bottle next to our bed. Then when we woke up there would be about $2 in quarters. 😀

What a great idea! My little one hasn’t lost any teeth yet, but when I was little I always received a glitter filled note and a couple silver dollars, some that I still have today! I can’t wait to continue the tradition and this will be the perfect way to document it.

Our son is 5 1/2 and our daughter is almost 4. They collided while running around a corner (one coming from our bedroom~ the other running down the hall into it). Anyway, our son’s tooth went into our daughter’s forehead. Kylie still has a tiny indent in her forehead from it, and when it happened, Austin was crying and had blood coming from his mouth but I couldn’t figure out from where (it was his lip). A little while later, we realized that his front tooth is sticking out, and that’s what it’s from! He started kindergarten this year, and his teachers and the kids think it’s loose~ it’s not! He looks very cute when he smiles and sometimes you only see that tooth, but Mommy is ready for it to get loose and fall out! We bought some very cute pillows from Etsy (his is Angry Birds!), and I’m hoping we can put it to use soon! 🙂

Hi! I love the idea. Sorry for my English. Here in Spain there is no tooth fairy, so there is the Ratoncito Pérez, but it’s the same. When the first tooth fell my daughter, she almost could not sleep because she was afraid of the Ratoncito. We put some coins under the pillow and in the morning she was very happy.

As kids, we used to leave our teeth in a glass of water by our beds. I’m not sure what the water was for??
Our son had to have his first 2 teeth pulled (they grew in as shark teeth – a 2nd row of teeth behind the baby teeth), so the tooth fairy brought Susan B Anthony dollars for each tooth (our son’s name is Anthony) as well as a bonus $5 for having help at the dentist. Usually the tooth fairy brings “Anthony dollars” for Anthony 🙂

We have a ‘price-line’ tooth fairy. My grandson names the amount of money he thinks the tooth fairy will bring him. Sometimes he names an amount ($ 1.50) or sometimes he names coins (3 quarters, 5 dimes, and 2 nickels). The amount is never over $2.00.

We have a little tooth box and it goes under their pillow that night ( well only my daughter my son hasnt lost any yet) and she writes the tooth fairy a note.. she gets 2 dollars… Simple but she loves it. One time she wrote ” I know my brother has not lost a tooth but can you please give him a dollar also?”!! Love that she looks out for him!

When we were little it was just the tooth under the pillow and we got 25 cents. I hear the average cost of a tooth has gone up to over $3. I plan on my own tradition of making my son a cute monster tooth pillow I saw on pinterest but I still have a few years.

My son has a tooth fairy door outside his bedroom door. The lost tooth is left at the door and the tooth fairy exchanges the tooth for 3 $1 bills, 1 to save, 1 to spend and 1 to donate. He uses the donation dollar for missions day at school. In fact, the tooth fairy is visiting us tonight as my son lost his 5th tooth which eating pizza for breakfast! 🙂

Our Tooth Fairy was very busy in June and July 2012. Between those two months last year my daughter lost five (5) teeth. The minute they were loose she would say the Tooth Fairy will be coming again and she would wiggle, wiggle, wiggle until the loose tooth came out.

These are great cards. With the three kids loosing teeth on what feels like on a weekly basis I could have fun with these. Our tooth fairy leaves a Susan B. Anthony “Golden” Dollar in the container that the kids leave the tooth. We also leave “fairy” dust sprinkled around.

This collection is soooo cute! I’ve been wanting some PL style cards 2 use 2 record my youngest son’s loss of teeth-LOL! He’s 5 & started school (K5) this year! I especially love the chart! And even though my oldest son has already lost 8 teeth, I’d love this 2 play catch up & to use for the rest of the teeth that he will lose:) Our tradition is 2 put the tooth in their Tooth Kritter pillow pocket & then the next morning, see what they got! Sometimes it’s money & sometimes it’s a small toy or gift:) Soooo fun & the Tooth Kritter i much easier than having 2 sneak & reach under their pillow-LOL:) Thanks so much 4 creating these & 4 the giveaway-I’d love 2 win either 1, b/c whichever 1 I don’t win, I’m buying the other, b/c I love the aqua colored cards in the girls edition!

As a child, I always left my tooth under my pillow for the tooth fairy to take and started my children in the same tradition. The tradition quickly changed to a tooth fairy pillow when those tiny teeth went missing but found at a later date … not good for the tooth fairy’s reputation.

My son has lost 5 teeth and has swallowed 3 of them! His first one was lost while eating a whole apple so we did not have a tooth to put under his pillow so he wrote a note, in it of course he felt the need to say what he wanted for the lost tooth, like he was writing to Santa….now every time he loses a tooth, even when we have the tooth, he writes a note and every time he asks for the same thing, a MatchBox car! Kids are too funny!

Not a silly question at all Vicki…I’m filling it out from the child’s perspective. The upper row in the chart is the child’s upper teeth, the lower row is the child’s lower teeth.
