Now onto this weeks party…
SIMPLE THINGS SUNDAY No. 107
I have to admit, I haven’t pulled the camera out much this week. With the cold weather here I haven’t felt as inspired to get out and take as many pictures. I’m not a huge fan of the cold – living on a tropical island for a year and a half spoiled me I guess. But the other day I decided it was high time I change my attitude and embrace this weather because it’s here to stay for a while. I went in search of the beauty of winter and sure enough I was able to find it – while wearing my coat, toque, mittens and fuzzy warm boots of course! 🙂
Now it’s your turn. What simple things are you celebrating this week?
If you’re new to Simple as That I’d love for you join us in this weekly tradition. Scroll down to the bottom of this post where you can find all the details on how to share your photos with us. We’ll be taking a short break from our simple things special guest series while our friends in the US celebrate thanksgiving.

I have to admit…I would be the same way with my attitude with the cold weather. This was one of the reasons we had to move south. I just didn’t want to leave the house. That is a sad state to be in.

I haven’t taken many either. I need to vary it up a bit too, it has just been my little guy lately! Thanks for a place to consistently get photography tips and share my own photos:)

I know the feeling, I have the same problem these days! I think I will follow your example and go outdoors anyways. Very wise words you have shared here, thanks for the reminderd. Have a wonderful Sunday! 🙂

Absolutely! This image and these words resonate with me so! As a former cold place abider, and a current tropical island liver, I too, have a strong distaste for the cold and wintery. However, I live in a developing nation, where there’s lots that’s imperfect, but somehow, over the past few months, I’ve really come to look beyond the annoying traffic, lack of sidewalks, and occasional gecko in my kitchen. There’s lots of beauty if I just open my eyes.
Thanks for the reminder!

I’m glad you wandered out long enough to get this fantastic image. I have always wondered how your transition from tropical island to frozen north has been for you. However, I escaped to Texas to warm up my body and soul with my grandchildren for Thanksgiving. Couldn’t help myself. 🙂

I am not very excited about the cold weather either! So I didn’t get my camera out much either.
I think I may do a project 365 next year, just to get myself taking pictures through the winter!

p.s. I forgot to mention that I absolutely love your photo! It looks like a scene I might find down by Utah Lake.

I’m not a fan of the cold either, but your image is simply gorgeous!

It’s hard enjoying the cold when it seems to last longer than the nice weather 🙂 Pretty picture and I love that quote!

Beautiful ice covered branches! I agree, the colder weather just makes me want to stay home, and when we’re home, I don’t feel like shooting either. Tks for pushing me!

So very true, it get’s hard when the temps turn cold. But the beauty is always there, we just need to seek it.
