Well, its been a great week everyone! I’m so glad you stopped by and joined in the fun!
For our final day of SUMMER FUN week I wanted to share a few things that are on the top of my list of summer favorites this year.
One thing I can’t get enough of right now are the (virgin) PINA COLADA’s Randal makes.
All you need to make them are:
1 can pineapple chunks or tidbits (with the juice)
1 can coconut milk
1/2 cup sugar (I like to use less, just use as much as you want to taste)
fill up the rest of your blender with ice
With so many more fresh fruits and vegetables available right now and a 6 month old baby who just started solids I decided to dig out my Kidco food mill the other day. I bought mine when Emily was born so it’s definately gotten well used over the years.
As soon as I stumbled across these adorable paperdolls by Lily and Thistle I knew I’d found just the thing to pack with us on our move for the girls to enjoy. Lightweight, portable and absolutely DARLING these dolls would make the perfect little travel companions on any summer road trip (or say, a move half way accross the world.)
I have fond memories of playing with paperdolls as a little girl and can’t wait to watch the girls enjoy them as well.
My sister in law introduced me to using a Sunblock stick last summer and I’ve been hooked ever since. No more sunscreen in my kids eyes, no more greasy sunscreen all over their faces or my hands. If you’re anything like me and prefer a non-chemical, fragrance free suncreen (I have two kiddos with mild eczema) I came across this sunblock stick that sounds perfect from California baby, anyone ever tried any of their products?
After having a baby 6 months ago, I’m sure you can all relate with how excited I am to start fitting back into those pre-pregnancy clothes. As I’ve pulled a few summer skirts out of my closet I found a couple are just a little shorter than I’d like and I’ve found the perfect solution! Aren’t these slips by Vintage Hem fabulous!? Not to mention innovative! Such a lovely way to be modest and add a sweet little vintage touch to any dress or skirt.
1 cup lemon icing
12 graham crackers
½ cup lemon juice
1 tsp lemon rind
Blend condensed milk, juice and rind until thick. Layer bottom of a 9 X 9 inch pan with graham crackers. Pour a layer of milk mixture over top. Continue layering alternating between the condensed milk mixture and the graham crackers. End with a layer of graham crackers and then top with lemon icing.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the week as much as I have! Leave a comment and let me know what you thought of the weeks blog posts, it’s always nice to get feedback. It helps as I’m planning future events to know what you liked or any ideas you have for future blog content from me.
Happy SUMMER everyone!

I’ve been debating an Ergo – I am expecting #4 in October. It seems so expensive, but I know with three older kids I’m really going to have to keep my hands free.

love the things you find and the great ideas you come up with – have enjoyed the week! but I also enjoy seeing your great photos and what you and the kiddos have been up to – so can’t wait to see the whole island adventure! (good luck with getting there by the way! its just as much a job getting yourself prepared for the travel as it is with the packing!)
ps – went and found a bubble machine here in Australia after seeing it here – for my daughters birthday soon – for her AND me to play with! 😉

What a fun week! Thanks! I’ve had my Ergo for about 2 1/2 years and still use it on my 3 year old. LOVE it. 🙂

Just a question about the lemon squares. Your directions say, “Pour a layer of milk mixture over top. Continue layering.” What is being layered, the Graham Crackers and the mixture? Thanks for clarification. BTW, I’m a big fan of your photography and scrapbooking! Best of luck on your adventures!

Stephanie, I SO wish I’d had the ERGO with all my babies and not just discovered it with my last. It is well worth the money…things with four are definately busy, busy and having my hand free has been a must.

Sharon – enjoy those bubbles!

yes you do layer the condensed milk and then the graham crackers and just continue to alternate between the two. I’ll go clarify that within the post right now, thanks for letting me know it was confusing! 🙂

I bookmark all your favorites posts, Rebecca–you have the best lists. This was a super-fun week and I learned about a lot of new products (i.e. going to buy an owl lunchbox from Gracie that I found after clicking through to the Raspberry Kids link!)
Hope you are well and hanging in there!
