this weeks simple thing:
During a visit to my mom + dad’s house a few weeks ago, my sister and I found some boxes filled with toys from our childhood that my mom had kept. We spent some time going through the boxes together, and reminisced about the dolls and books and things that we used to enjoy as kids. It was so much fun and brought back some really fond memories. I took a few books and things home with me to show my kids and they’ve enjoyed them much more than I thought they would. It’s been really special to flip through the pages of these old books together and to share little stories with them from my childhood.

They really don’t make sweet simple stories like this any more — I had many of the same books and loved them so much. Thank you for stirring up some great memories, Rebecca. 🙂
I cherish things like that too. Happy weekend, Rebecca.
We have that My First Counting Book and it is one of my daughters favorites!
I love it when I find toys and books that my mom has saved from my childhood. I always find gems to share with my own kids. Such a nostalgic feeling! Have a great Sunday.

I love it when that happens! I was home this past week and found a few things that I had as a kid…I gave a little stuffed puppy to Canaan (the baby) and he hasn’t let it out of his sight since! What great finds! I love to find vintage books as well…they are such gems!
I wish I still had some of my childhood stuff! 🙂

I had that Baby Animals book – I think it was written by Garth Williams – still remember because that’s my father’s name and my brothers had me convinced he had written it! 🙂
