What is supposed to be such an exciting and magical time – expecting your first baby – has turned into a heartache just this past week. My brother and his wife who were expecting twins went in for a doctor’s appointment and they couldn’t find the heartbeats. I can only imagine the panic and then the devastation they felt when they found out that they had lost the babies. I truly can’t even imagine how difficult this has been for them. It has been a high risk pregnancy from the very beginning and so they always knew that the babies might not make it, but I still don’t think that could have prepared anyone for such sad news.
I think that God really does know us and that he has placed two very capable and wonderful people in a situation that he knew they could handle and that they would rise above. Two people that will handle it so much better than I ever could. Ben’s wife is such a sweetheart and I know that she will be ok and that she’s got a wonderful husband beside her to help her.

How heartbreaking… I had a SIL go through the same thing (not twins) and you just ache & ache for them.

So so sorry to hear this sad news. Your perspective is so reassuring – that we have a loving Heavenly Father who gives us trials to strengthen us, not to punish us.
