We have a lot of weekend projects all stocked up ready to go, enough of them to keep us busy for A LOT of weekends. Despite all the warnings people gave us we went ahead and moved into our house before it was completely done. We had no choice really, we needed to be in our own place so badly after living in Randal’s parents basement for almost a year. So as soon as we had enough done so that it was livable we moved into the new place. We’ve been getting a lot done, but we’re also pretty burnt out from all the months of building that we’ve been slacking a little. So the past couple weekends, we’ve kicked ‘er into gear and been busy, busy.
Randal hung all the doors upstairs. We did have one door up already – the bathroom of course. But I had sheets hanging on our bedroom and Carson’s room up until a couple of weeks ago. While Randal hung doors I finished grouting all the tile in our basement bathroom and all the backsplashes – kitchen and baths. I’ve become quite the handy-woman I must say after this whole experience! (Just don’t look too closely at my tile job, you can tell I’m no pro!!)
Then this weekend Randal finished up our pantry. I am so excited that it is finally done. He did the shelves one day, the door on saturday. I can now organize my kitchen and shut that door so Carson has no access to all the food. He dumped out a whole box of cheerios the other day all over the kitchen floor that he got his hands on. So hopefully no more mishaps like that one – I’m not holding my breath. But a woman can always hope can’t she?
So this is the pantry – the first picture taken in July, next one in August and the last one taken today! We still have a bunch to do around here – moldings, hang more doors, landscaping in the spring. But it’ll get done – not fast. But it’ll get done.
So I’m off to go get the kids some lunch and then go grab some groceries. Tonight for family night we’re going to crank up the Christmas music and decorate the Christmas tree. Then I thought Emily would have fun making some christmas treats – you know how you just dip pretzels in colored chocolate. I thought that would be easy and fun to do. Anyway, I’m out.
Happy monday everyone!
