My sweet friend Angie Lucas welcomed a new baby girl into the family just last week and we’re throwing her an e-baby shower!
Congrats Angie and family! I couldn’t be happier for you!
To help celebrate I thought I’d share with you a few of my favorite tried and true baby items….so here we go!
Newborn gowns – when I had Emily I purchased 3-4 white newborn gowns. They were so soft, easy to put on and take off and made diaper changing so much quicker.
SWADDLING – I didn’t discover these AMAZING Aidan + Anais swaddling blankets until my last baby but I swear by them. Breathable, lightweight and large enough to swaddle that baby good and tight (and hopefully buy yourself a few extra minutes of sleep once in a while, my babies always slept so much better swaddled up). You can see a great tutorial on how to swaddle on their website, it’s great.
Newborn hats – I tried so many different little hats and never found one I liked until I found these little caps from Loved Baby that are my favorite by far! They fit so well and actually stay on.
Bibs – Since my first baby started solids I’ve stayed away from cloth bibs (they get so stained and icky) and used a plastic reusable one. I have this one right now for Alivia and I love it. All you do is rinse it off after each feeding, some are even dishwasher safe.
Baby wearing – I discovered baby wearing when I had Addie and it’s something I wish I’d done with all my babies. All of my sweethearts were little snugglers and wanted to be close to mom at all times…kindof made doing everyday things a little tricky at times. But with a good baby carrier you can carry your baby around with you all the while having your hands free to do things around the house that you need to do. I started with Alivia in the Moby Wrap when she was tiny and as she got older moved to the ERGO baby. I’ve tried out many (many, many) baby carriers and my favorite by far for how easy it is to use and its support and comfort while wearing is the ERGOBaby.
Baby announcements – this might come as a surprise but I never sent out baby announcements for any of my children and I wish now that I had. I think I had unrealistic expectations that they needed to be handmade works of art and with a new baby I never felt enough energy to undertake that task. BUT there are so many companies out there now where you can simply choose your design online, upload your photos and order birth announcements right to your door! So simple, easy and stinkin CUTE!
Shoes – many cute pairs of baby shoes went the way of the thrift store at our house because I couldn’t stand it when they wouldn’t stay on their feet. My favorite pair of baby shoes I used that actually stayed on were these robeez boots. Expensive, yes…but so worth it! They stand up to the wear and tear of multiple children, can be for boy or girl and did I mention they stay on!
Congrats again Angie! Enjoy that new little sweetheart!
