These Woodland Creature No-Carve Pumpkins are such a fun way to decorate for fall! With a few simple craft supplies and our free printable patterns, you can turn faux pumpkins into an adorable fox, raccoon and owl—no carving required. No-Carve Pumpkins are the perfect way to dress up your pumpkins this fall. If you love pumpkins, but loathe carving them, this is the project for you!
The inspiration for these pumpkins came from our Woodland Creature Cups. We loved those little woodland animals so much that we decided to recreate them using pumpkins!

We can’t wait to start decorating our new home for fall and we’re going start with these cute Woodland Creature Pumpkins!
These are a fun fall craft to make with kids, and because they’re made with faux pumpkins, you can bring them out and enjoy them year after year.
Below you’ll find everything you need to make all three woodland creature pumpkins, along with free printable patterns for the fox, raccoon and owl.
Woodland Creature Pumpkin Supplies
- Faux pumpkins
- Grey and Turquoise Craft Paint
- Foam brush
- Cardstock (grey and orange)
- Felt (grey, orange, off-white, tan, black)
- Black sharpie
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Free woodland creature template
A note about pumpkin size: I used medium-sized faux pumpkins from Michaels for this project. You can use any size you like—just adjust the scale of the printable patterns to fit your pumpkins.
I’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for you to recreate these pumpkins at home. Simply print out and use the templates provided (links included below) to cut out all the felt and paper pieces you’ll need.
The templates are for the woodland creature craft cups so depending on what size of pumpkin you’re using you can use the “scale” feature within your printer options to increase or decrease the size of the printed templates. For these pumpkins I printed at 125 percent.
Fox No-Carve Pumpkin
- Orange faux pumpkin
- Orange cardstock
- Off-white felt
- Black permanent marker
- Hot glue
- Free Fox Pumpkin Pattern
**Remember to enlarge if using a bigger pumpkin. Print and cut out pattern pieces.
Instructions
1. Print the fox pattern. Download and print the free pattern. I printed mine at 125% to fit my pumpkin, but you can adjust the scale depending on the size of your pumpkin.
Cut out the pieces. Use the pattern to cut the fox pieces from orange cardstock and off-white felt.
2. Assemble the tail. Glue the tail pieces together as shown.
3. Attach the pieces. Hot glue the ears, face and tail onto the pumpkin.
4. Add the face. Use a black permanent marker to draw the eyes and nose.

Raccoon No-Carve Pumpkin
For the raccoon pumpkin, you’ll need a white faux pumpkin, gray craft paint, gray cardstock, black and white felt, a black permanent marker and the free raccoon pattern.
Instructions
1. Paint a white faux pumpkin with gray craft paint. Allow it to dry completely.
2. Print and cut out the pattern.
3. Download and print the free raccoon pattern. I printed mine at 125% to fit my pumpkin, but you can adjust the scale depending on the size of your pumpkin.
Use the pattern pieces to cut the ears and tail from gray cardstock and the face pieces from black and white felt.
4. Add the tail details. Use a black permanent marker to add stripes to the raccoon’s tail.
5. Assemble the raccoon. Using hot glue, attach the ears, face pieces and tail to the pumpkin.
6. Add the finishing details. Use a black permanent marker to add the eyes and nose.

Owl No-Carve Pumpkin
For the owl pumpkin, you’ll need a white or off-white faux pumpkin, turquoise craft paint, tan, off-white and orange felt, a black permanent marker and the free owl pattern.
Instructions
1. Paint a white or off-white faux pumpkin with turquoise craft paint. Allow it to dry completely.
2. Download and print the free owl pattern. I printed mine at 125% to fit my pumpkin, but you can adjust the scale depending on the size of your pumpkin.
Use the pattern pieces to cut the owl’s wings and facial details from the different colors of felt.
3. Using hot glue, attach the felt pieces to the pumpkin as shown.
4. Use a black permanent marker to add the owl’s eyes and feather details.

I’d say they’re medium size. At Michaels there were pumpkins smaller and larger than this one. Hope that helps.
