Skinny Strawberry and Coconut Frappe is a delicious and refreshing, non-caffeinated drink that is made with strawberries and coconut.
Hello there! This is Katie from The Casual Craftlete blog. Today, I am excited to share one of my favorite lower calorie drinks, Skinny Strawberry and Coconut Frappe. This frappe recipe is a lot of like a milk shake but much healthier for you. Since it is the start of the new year, most people are trying to get fit and healthy. This year my goal is to eat smarter and this Skinny Strawberry and Coconut Frappe curbs my sweet tooth. Another great way to make a smoothie healthy is by adding avocado and this Avocado and Red Berry Smoothie is yummy.
A frappe by definition is a milkshake or frozen fruit-flavored dessert made with shaved ice. This Skinny Strawberry and Coconut Frappe is made with both frozen and fresh strawberries, coconut milk, coconut oil, coconut extract, a drizzle of honey, and ice cubes. I like using frozen strawberries because they will keep the frappe colder longer and the fresh strawberries are used for their crispness.
This frappe is simply made by placing all of the ingredients into a high-speed blender and blending until smooth and creamy. I know this is a skinny drink recipe but sometimes I like to add whipped cream and unsweetened toasted coconut flakes to the top of my frappe. They don’t add much more to the calories.
This year I think you are going to being seeing a lot of coconut recipes. It seems to be a hot and healthy trend, which I am thrilled with because I love coconut. I hope you enjoy this Skinny Strawberry and Coconut Frappe recipe!
